- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 11 ounces baking caramels
- ¾ brown sugar
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and either grease an 8-inch square baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- Heat the cream with the caramels in a pan over a moderate heat, stirring all the time.
- Take it off the heat once the mixture is smooth.
- Stir together the melted butter, sugar, flour, baking soda, and oats in a bowl until well combined.
- Press half of this mixture into your prepared square baking dish.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top and then top with the caramel mixture.
- Add the rest of the oat mixture on top of that and bake for another 18 minutes or until done.
- Let the caramelitas cool completely before slicing and serving.
