- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large egg
- ½ chopped onion
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs
- ½ cup chopped bacon
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
FOR THE GRAVY:
- 1 chopped onion
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 package brown gravy mix
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Put the meat, egg, half a chopped onion, garlic powder, breadcrumbs, bacon, and some salt and black pepper in a bowl.
- Knead the mixture with your hands until well combined.
- Shape the meat mixture into 4 equal-sized patties and dip them in the flour.
- Heat the oil in a skillet over a moderate to high heat.
- Brown the patties on both sides, then set them to one side.
- Add one chopped onion to the skillet and turn the heat down a bit.
- Cook until the onion is softened.
- Now whisk ¼ cup of flour with a cup of water and pour this mixture into the skillet.
- Add the gravy mix and worcestershire sauce, then season to taste.
- Add the mushrooms to the pan along with the beef patties.
- Cover and simmer gently for 20 minutes, then serve right away.
