Hamburger Steak Patties

Also known as hamburger steak patties or hamburger steaks, these Salisbury steaks are really easy to make. They’re delicious comfort food that the whole family is going to want at least once a week. They’re relatively cheap to make too.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ chopped onion
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup chopped bacon
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

FOR THE GRAVY:

  • 1 chopped onion
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 package brown gravy mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Put the meat, egg, half a chopped onion, garlic powder, breadcrumbs, bacon, and some salt and black pepper in a bowl.
  2. Knead the mixture with your hands until well combined.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into 4 equal-sized patties and dip them in the flour.
  4. Heat the oil in a skillet over a moderate to high heat.
  5. Brown the patties on both sides, then set them to one side.
  6. Add one chopped onion to the skillet and turn the heat down a bit.
  7. Cook until the onion is softened.
  8. Now whisk ¼ cup of flour with a cup of water and pour this mixture into the skillet.
  9. Add the gravy mix and worcestershire sauce, then season to taste.
  10. Add the mushrooms to the pan along with the beef patties.
  11. Cover and simmer gently for 20 minutes, then serve right away.
