Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits

These biscuits are really easy to make and they’re delicious. For a special treat, make these for brunch over the weekend and enjoy them warm from the oven.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1¼ cups buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 6 tablespoons salted butter
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients together.
  3. Cut the butter into slices and rub it into the flour using your fingers.
  4. Slowly pour in the buttermilk and mix until only just combined.
  5. Knead the resulting dough on a floured work surface.
  6. Roll out to ½-inch thickness and cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
