Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds ground beef
  • 1 diced red bell pepper
  • 1 diced green bell pepper
  • 1 diced yellow onion
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1½ cups beef broth
  • 5 minced garlic cloves
  • 8 provolone or mozzarella slices
  • 8 toasted burger buns or brioche buns

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef in a skillet over a moderate to high heat, then drain off the grease.
  2. Stir the onions, garlic and bell peppers into the beef.
  3. Cook until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Stir in the broth, balsamic vinegar, worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil then cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Spoon some of the beef mixture over each bun bottom and add the cheese and bun tops, then serve hot.
