- 3 pounds ground beef
- 1 diced red bell pepper
- 1 diced green bell pepper
- 1 diced yellow onion
- 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- ¼ cup worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1½ cups beef broth
- 5 minced garlic cloves
- 8 provolone or mozzarella slices
- 8 toasted burger buns or brioche buns
Instructions
- Brown the beef in a skillet over a moderate to high heat, then drain off the grease.
- Stir the onions, garlic and bell peppers into the beef.
- Cook until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the broth, balsamic vinegar, worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a boil then cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Spoon some of the beef mixture over each bun bottom and add the cheese and bun tops, then serve hot.
