Sausage Green Bean Potato Casserole

This is such an easy recipe and you just need one skillet and one baking dish to make it. The flavors are really good.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Yield: 8 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds halved baby creamer potatoes
  • pounds kielbasa, in ¼-inch chunks
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 2 x 15-ounce cans green beans
  • ⅛ cup cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon Slap Ya Mamma® seasoning
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 finely chopped yellow onion
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Put the potato halves in a gallon-sized Ziploc bag with the oil and seasonings.
  2. Shake well to mix.
  3. Put the kielbasa in a skillet with the water and cook over a moderately high heat until most of the water is gone and the kielbasa is golden brown.
  4. Let the sausage cool a bit and then add to the bag with the potatoes.
  5. Melt the butter in the same skillet and then saute the onions and garlic in there until fragrant.
  6. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  7. Let the onions and garlic cool a bit then add to the Ziploc bag with the potatoes and meat.
  8. Seal the bag and shake vigorously to mix.
  9. Drain the beans and then add them to the bag and shake one last time.
  10. Transfer the contents of the bag into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish and bake for 40 minutes.
  11. Check if the potatoes are tender and, if not, cook for another 5 minutes and check again.
  12. Serve immediately.
