- 3 or 4 Vidalia (sweet) onions
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Italian blend cheese
- ½ cup shredded parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Clean and peel the onions, and cut into ¼-inch rounds across the middle before separating them into rings.
- Put the onion in a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish and season with garlic powder, salt and black pepper.
- Cut the butter into about 8 cubes and dot them evenly across the onions.
- Sprinkle the Italian and cheddar alternately over the onions.
- Add the parmesan on top.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling and turning golden brown, then serve right away.
