Twix Cookies

Are you a huge fan of Twix and want to create a homemade version? I present to you the Twix Cookies. A crunchy, buttery goodness topped with gooey caramel and a chocolate layer. Sounds like your favorite treat.

Ingredients

 Cookies:

  • Butter, unsalted and softened
  • Egg
  • Cream cheese, softened
  • White sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Baking soda
  • Salt
  • All-purpose flour

Caramel:

  • Caramels
  • Heavy cream

Chocolate Ganache:

  • Milk chocolate chips
  • Heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare 3 cookie trays by lining them with baking paper.
  2. Add butter and cream cheese into a mixing bowl. Beat with a handheld mixer for 3 minutes or until combined and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, vanilla, and sugar. In a second bowl, add the dry ingredients: salt, baking soda, and flour. Whisk to combine.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and mix between each addition. Scoop some dough and flatten it gently with your fingers. Your cookies should be about 2 inches in size.
  5. Align the Twix cookies on the baking tray and bake for 9-12 minutes. The cookies are done when they no longer look wet. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool down completely. Meanwhile, place the caramels into a microwave-safe bowl and add 2 tablespoons of heavy cream. Melt them in the microwave in 30-second intervals, mixing between each. Continue this until melted and combined.
  6. In the center of each cookie, add half a tablespoon of the melted caramel. And flatten it. Place the cookies in the fridge. Meanwhile, melt the chocolate chips together with a quarter cup of heavy cream in the microwave. Garnish the top of the cookies with the melted chocolate.
  7. Place them in the fridge to set the chocolate.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
