Black Pepper Beef and Cabbage Stir Fry

This Black Pepper Beef and Cabbage Stir Fry is a version of the traditional Chinese recipes. We used ground beef instead of slices for an even distribution of flavors. And the best thing about this dish is that it tastes just like the takeouts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 ⁄2-pound ground beef
  • 1 ⁄2 small head of cabbage shredded finely
  • 1 red bell pepper cut into strips
  • 2 tablespoons of Soy Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of Cornstarch
  • 1 ⁄2 cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch of salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic cloves and saute for 5 seconds. You can also prepare this recipe in a wok.
  2. Add the ground beef and break it down with a wooden spoon. Cook until brown.
  3. Drain The excess grease and add the cabbage and red bell pepper. Cook until the veggies are soft.
  4. Mix the cold water, soy sauce, and starch in a small bowl. Pour the mixture into the skillet and stir it in.
  5. Add pepper and salt to taste. Cook until the cornstarch thickens the mixture.
