Homemade King Hawaiian Rolls

What we like most about this recipe is the perfect balance between sweet and savory. You won’t tell that we used pineapple juice when tasting the rolls, but it contributes to the mild sweetness. And did we mention the fluffy and squishy texture? Any type of filling sandwiched between the soft layers tastes fantastic.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 cup Pineapple juice
  • ½  tsp. Vanilla
  • ⅓ cup Sugar
  • 4 tbsp. Melted butter unsalted
  • 3 ¼ Flour divided
  • 1 Packet of instant yeast

Instructions

  1. Add the eggs, butter, sugar, juice, and vanilla into a mixing bowl. Mix well.
  2. Add the yeast and 3 cups of Flour. Mix well until everything is incorporated. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm area.
  3. Grease a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  4. Sprinkle some flour on the working surface and knead the dough. You want to work it nicely for 5 minutes.
  5. Cut the prepared dough into 12 equal pieces. Shape them into round rolls and place them in your baking dish.
  6. Cover the baking dish with a cloth and let it rise for 1 hour.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F by the end of the one-hour rising time. Bake for 30 minutes or until your king Hawaiian rolls are golden.
