- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 chopped yellow onion
- 2 large eggs
- 1 chopped green bell pepper
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 3 slices provolone cheese
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Saute the bell pepper and onion in a skillet until tender.
- Put the beef and cooked vegetables in a mixing bowl with the panko, worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic, salt, and black pepper, and knead to mix.
- Divide the mixture in half and put one half in a loaf pan or make a loaf shape on a baking sheet.
- Top with the provolone cheese and then the other half of the meat mixture to completely enclose the provolone.
- Bake for 30 minutes, top with the mozzarella and bake for a further 15 minutes.
- Serve hot.
