Shrimp Fried Rice

Shrimp fried rice is your go-to recipe when craving Asian takeout. Save some money and make this satisfying meal with a few ingredients you can get in your local grocery store. The white rice will soak up the beautiful aromas, offering you a mix of shrimp, soy sauce, sesame oil, and garlic aroma.

  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 lb. medium shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 cups of frozen peas and carrots defrosted
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tsp. sesame oil
  • 1 large egg whisked
  • 2 tbsp. Sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Wash the shrimp and set aside.
  2. Prepare the white rice according to the instructions indicated on the package and set aside.
  3. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the garlic and cook for a minute.
  5. Add the peas mixture and shrimp to the skillet. Stir and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Mix the soy sauce and sesame oil in a small bowl. 
  7. Add the soy sauce mixture and prepared rice into the skillet and cook for 4 minutes.
  8. Push the content of the skillet to one side with a wooden spoon. 
  9. Add the egg to the empty section. Stir it until cooked.
  10. Stir in the cooked egg in the mixture. Top with sliced green onions and serve.
