- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup softened salted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups (14 ounces) chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and line 3 baking trays with parchment paper.
- Sift the flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder into a bowl and whisk.
- Cream the butter with both types of sugar, then beat in the vanilla and eggs until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the dry ingredients and then the chocolate chips.
- Roll 2 or 3-inch balls of dough and arrange on the baking sheets and flatten.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until just beginning to get golden brown at the edges.
- Let them cool for a few minutes in the baking pans and then put them on wire racks to cool completely.
