Authentic Swedish Meatballs

Ingredients
  

Meatballs:
  • 3 lb ground beef
  • 1 white onion finely diced
  • 2 large eggs lightly beaten
  • 1 cup seasoned dry breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup fresh flat-leaf parsley chopped
  • 2 tsp coarse salt
  • 1 tsp coarse black pepper
Gravy:
  • 4 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 10.5 oz cans beef consomme
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp coarse salt
  • 1 tsp coarse black pepper
Serving/Plating:
  • 12 oz medium egg noodles cooked according to package directions
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 3 Tbsp fresh flat-leaf parsley chopped

Method
 

Prepare the meatballs:
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, diced onion, eggs, breadcrumbs, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Form and brown:
  1. Shape the mixture into small, 1-inch meatballs. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and brown the meatballs on all sides. Once browned, remove the meatballs from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.
Make the gravy:
  1. In the same skillet with the leftover fat
  2. Enjoy!
