Beefy King Ranch Casserole

This hearty, layered bake is rich, cheesy, slightly spicy, and packed with flavor in every bite. It’s the kind of meal that fills your kitchen with the most incredible aroma and brings everyone to the table before you even call them.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • cup water
  • 8 oz jar Cheez Whiz
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 10 oz can Rotel drained
  • 2 tbsp minced onion flakes
  • Dash Tabasco
  • Dash Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Crushed tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer a few minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. In a bowl, mix together cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, Cheez Whiz, Rotel, onion flakes, Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spread crushed tortilla chips across the bottom of the baking dish.
  6. Layer half the beef over the chips, then half the soup mixture, and sprinkle with 1 cup cheddar cheese.
  7. Repeat layers with remaining beef and soup mixture. Top with remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake for 35–45 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
  9. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
