Cookies and Cream Cinnamon Rolls

They combine the soft, fluffy texture of traditional cinnamon rolls with the rich, chocolatey flavor of cookies and cream. This recipe takes everything people love about warm cinnamon rolls—sweet dough, gooey filling, and creamy topping—and adds crushed chocolate sandwich cookies for an extra layer of flavor and texture.
Course: Breakfast, Dessert, Snack, Treat
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

For the rolls:
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup crushed Oreo cookies
  • 1 lb thawed bread or pizza dough
For the frosting:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ cup butter softened
  • ¼ cup crushed Oreo cookies

Method

  1. Lightly flour a clean work surface. Place the thawed dough on the surface and roll it out into a rectangle about 9×13 inches.
  2. Using a brush or spoon, spread the melted butter evenly over the surface of the dough.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and crushed Oreo cookies.
  4. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the buttered dough, making sure to cover the entire surface.
  5. Starting from one long side, roll the dough tightly into a log.
  6. Trim off the ends of the log, then cut the remaining dough into 10–12 equal pieces.
  7. Place the rolls cut-side up into a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between each roll.
  8. Cover the dish loosely and place it in a warm area. Allow the rolls to rise for about 30–45 minutes, or until they become slightly puffy.
  9. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Bake the rolls for 15–20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  11. While the rolls are baking, prepare the frosting. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and butter. Beat until smooth.
  12. Add the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until the frosting is creamy and well combined
  13. Once the rolls are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  14. Spread the frosting evenly over the warm rolls so it melts slightly into the layers.
  15. Sprinkle the remaining crushed Oreo cookies on top.
  16. Enojy!
