Put the butter, water, sugar, and vanilla in a pan and bring to a boil.
Stir in the flour and keep stirring and cooking until it forms a ball.
Remove the mixture from the pan and cool.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Now beat one egg at a time into the cooled flour mixture.
Drop tablespoons of the mixture on to parchment paper lined baking sheets.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Turn the oven heat down to 350 degrees F and cook for another 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and cut a slit into the side of each one with a sharp knife.
Let them cool completely.
Beat the filling ingredient together until thick and then pipe or scoop it into the cooled puffs.
Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
