Method
- Add the navy beans, ham bone, onion, celery, carrots, garlic, black pepper, bay leaves, and water to a crockpot. Stir gently to combine.

- Cover and cook on low heat for 6–8 hours, or until the beans are tender and the flavors are well blended.
- Remove the ham bone from the crockpot and shred any meat from it. Discard the bone.

- Return the shredded ham to the crockpot and stir to combine.
- Remove the bay leaves and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot.
