Method
Prepare the Ingredients
- Before you begin, make sure your cream cheese is softened for easy mixing. Slice your kielbasa into thin rounds and set them aside. If using frozen pierogi, no need to thaw them—just add them straight to the crockpot.
Layer the Pierogi and Kielbasa
- Spray the inside of your crockpot with non-stick spray. Start by layering half of the pierogi on the bottom. Add a layer of kielbasa on top. Repeat with another layer of pierogi and kielbasa.
Add the Creamy Sauce
- In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour this creamy mixture over the pierogi and kielbasa layers. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
Slow-Cook to Perfection
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, or on high for 2 to 3 hours. The casserole is ready when the cheese is melted, and everything is heated through.
Serve and Enjoy
- Once your Crockpot Pierogi Casserole is done, serve it hot. Garnish with a sprinkle of parsley or extra cheese if desired. Pair it with a fresh salad or some steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
