Method
Make the Crust (if homemade):
- In a bowl, mix crushed Oreos with melted butter until evenly coated.
- Press mixture into the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie dish.
- Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes if you prefer a firmer crust. Let cool completely.
Prepare the Filling:
- In a large microwave-safe bowl, whisk together heavy cream, milk, granulated sugar, powdered sugar, cornstarch, salt, and egg yolks until smooth.
- Add chocolate squares and microwave on HIGH in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, for 3–5 minutes total, or until the mixture is thickened and smooth.
- Once thick, stir in vanilla and coffee or Kahlua (if using).
Assemble the Pie:
- Pour the hot filling into your prepared crust (homemade or store-bought).
- Smooth the top with a spatula.
- Let it cool slightly, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until fully set.
