Fire Crackers

Simple to make yet packed with flavor, these seasoned crackers are tossed in oil and spices, then left to soak up all that goodness until every bite is crunchy, savory, and just a little bit spicy. They’re the kind of snack you set out on the table—and suddenly they’re gone before you know it.

Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 box saltine crackers
  • 1⅔ cups olive oil
  • 2 packets ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons red pepper flakes adjust to taste

Method

  1. Open a large 2-gallon resealable plastic bag and place it in a bowl or container to help keep it steady while mixing.
  2. Pour the olive oil into the bag.
  3. Add the ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Seal the bag tightly and gently shake or massage it until all the seasonings are fully combined with the oil.
  5. Carefully add the saltine crackers into the bag. Try to keep them as whole as possible when placing them inside.
  6. Seal the bag again, making sure all the air is removed.
  7. Gently turn and rotate the bag several times to coat all the crackers evenly with the seasoning mixture. Take your time so the crackers don’t break.
  8. Lay the bag flat and let it sit at room temperature overnight (at least 8–12 hours).
  9. During this resting time, flip or turn the bag a few times so the seasoning redistributes and soaks evenly into all the crackers.
  10. The next day, open the bag and give the crackers one final gentle toss.
  11. Serve immediately or transfer to an airtight container for storage.
  12. Enjoy!
