Italian Sub Squares

These flavorful squares have a soft, buttery crust with layers of salami, ham, provolone, crisp vegetables, and a zesty Italian dressing—everything we love about deli sandwiches. They are as aesthetically pleasing as they are delicious, making them ideal for informal get-togethers, game days, or even a family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1/2 pound sliced ham
  • 1/2 pound sliced salami
  • 1/2 pound sliced provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 cup banana pepper rings drained
  • 1/2 cup roasted red peppers drained and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
Optional:
  • lettuce and tomato slices for serving

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Unroll one can of crescent rolls and press the dough into the bottom of the prepared dish, sealing seams and pressing slightly up the sides.
  3. Layer half of the ham, salami, and provolone cheese evenly over the dough.
  4. Spread the pepperoni, banana pepper rings, and roasted red peppers on top of the meat and cheese.
  5. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning evenly over the top.
  6. Layer the remaining ham, salami, and provolone cheese over the pepper mixture.
  7. Unroll the second can of crescent rolls and carefully place it over the layers, pressing the edges and seams to seal.
  8. Brush the top with olive oil and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  10. Allow the dish to cool for a few minutes before cutting into squares. Serve warm, optionally with fresh lettuce and tomato slices on the side.
  11. Enjoy!
