Method
Prepare the Cake Batter:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans (or one 9x13-inch pan).
- In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

- Add in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until just combined.
- Stir in the hot black coffee — the batter will be thin, but that’s what makes the cake moist.
- Add the eggs and beat the batter until smooth, about 1–2 minutes with a hand mixer or whisk.

Bake the Cake:
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.

- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from the pans and transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Make the Frosting:
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter and melted chocolate until smooth and creamy.

- Add the confectioners’ sugar, sour cream, and vanilla extract.
- Beat until the frosting is thick, fluffy, and spreadable. If needed, adjust with a bit more sugar or sour cream for desired consistency.

Frost the Cake:
- Once the cakes are fully cooled, frost the top of one layer, stack the second layer, and cover the top and sides with the remaining frosting.

- Serve and enjoy!
