Have ready a short glass filled with ice. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

Add the Whiskey and the Drambuie. Cover the shaker and shake together quickly without overdoing it until well chilled and mixed together.

Pour over the ice in the glass. If you like, you can add a maraschino cherry with a stem to garnish or a traditional twist of lemon.
