Prepare the sauce:
- In a medium bowl, combine the Italian dressing mix, Ranch dressing mix, and brown gravy mix with the water. Whisk until smooth and well blended.
Optional step – sear the roast:
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear both sides of the chuck roast for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. This gives the roast a richer flavor and a beautiful seared appearance, but it’s optional.
Slow cook the roast:
- Place the chuck roast in the slow cooker. Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the top, making sure the roast is fully coated.

Cook:
- Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.

Serve:
- Remove the roast from the slow cooker and slice or shred as desired. Spoon the flavorful sauce over the meat and enjoy with your favorite sides.
