Super easy pot roast

What I love most about this recipe is how effortlessly it delivers restaurant-quality results without requiring hours of hands-on work. With just a few ingredients and a slow cooker or oven, you can create a hearty, satisfying meal that tastes like it took all day—but without the stress.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ½ – 3 lb. chuck roast
  • 1 packet Italian dressing mix dry
  • 1 packet Ranch dressing mix dry
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix dry
  • ½ cup water

Method
 

Prepare the sauce:
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the Italian dressing mix, Ranch dressing mix, and brown gravy mix with the water. Whisk until smooth and well blended.
Optional step – sear the roast:
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear both sides of the chuck roast for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. This gives the roast a richer flavor and a beautiful seared appearance, but it’s optional.
Slow cook the roast:
  1. Place the chuck roast in the slow cooker. Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the top, making sure the roast is fully coated.
Cook:
  1. Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
Serve:
  1. Remove the roast from the slow cooker and slice or shred as desired. Spoon the flavorful sauce over the meat and enjoy with your favorite sides.
