This Southern style pecan pie is easy to make and it tastes so good. Everyone will love it and beg for a second slice! You only need eight different ingredients to make this pie and if you use a readymade or frozen pie crust it can be assembled and in the oven in just ten minutes.

Buttery, crunchy pecans are baked in a soft butter, sugar and egg-based filling until golden brown and delicious. The kitchen is going to smell incredible while this is in the oven and everyone is going to come running to see what smells so good!

A quick chop is all you need for the nuts. You don’t have to get them very small. Leave some pecan quarters in there and some whole pecan halves as well for texture. This is great served with whipped cream and you might also like to sprinkle a little ground cinnamon on top as well.

Why You’ll Love the Recipe:

This delicious pecan pie combines a crumbly pie crust with a sweet, rich custard layer and crunchy pecans, for a dessert that’s great for the holidays.

How to Serve It:

Enjoy this with some whipped cream and ground cinnamon on top.

Can You Make It Ahead?

Yes, you can prepare it in advance and keep it refrigerated.

Variations and Substitutions:

You can make your own pie crust or use a readymade one. Add a couple tablespoons of bourbon and ¾ cup of semisweet chocolate chips for a bourbon and chocolate flavor, or just the bourbon or just the chocolate chips, as you prefer.

Ingredients needed:

  • Frozen or unbaked pie crust
  • Eggs, at room temperature
  • Chopped pecans
  • Brown sugar
  • Butter
  • Corn syrup
  • Ground cinnamon

How to make Southern Pecan Pie:

Put the nuts in the pie shell.

Mix the eggs with the corn syrup, sugar, butter, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt.

Pour this over the pecans.

Bake for 55 minutes to an hour, or until the middle jiggles just a little and the edges are fully set.

A great pecan pie recipe is always worth knowing and this one is delicious. It’s also really simple to make and great for the holidays.
