Country’s White Bread

The taste of comfort and tradition make this recipe unique. It uses quick-rising yeast to speed up the process, so your fresh bread will be ready within a couple of hours. Otherwise, you would have to wait for the dough to rise overnight.

Ingredients

  • 1 Packet of dry active yeast
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • ¼ C. Granulated sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. Oil
  • 34 C. All-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Add the dry active yeast and warm water into a mixing bowl. Let the mixture rest for about 10 minutes so the yeast activates.
  2. Add the egg, flour, salt, sugar, and oil to the mixing bowl. Mix well until you have a smooth dough. If needed, add more flour.
  3. Grease a large bowl and add the prepared dough. 
  4. Cover the bowl with a cloth and leave it in a warm area for an hour.
  5. Grease a loaf pan with cooking spray. Knead the dough and lay it in the loaf pan. 
  6. Leave the pan with the dough for one more hour in a warm area to rise. 
  7. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  8. Bake the country white bread for 30 minutes or until cooked thoroughly.
