All right, who is up for some simple and delicious pocket tacos? I love the simple and quick recipes you can make to serve a crowd. And the loaded cheesy pocket tacos are exactly that. Being delicious, they are a real crowd-pleaser.

And the cooking process is so simple that you won’t have to spend much time in the kitchen. I love simple meals like this one where you can complete it within an hour. And the best thing, you can prepare your filling ahead of time and just bake the cheesy pocket tacos before serving.

This is very convenient when you have large gatherings, and you want to organize the process so you won’t be in a rush at the table. It always works for me. The process is very simple. You cook the beef, season it with taco seasoning, and mix the cream cheese with salsa. Lay this over your tortillas, bake, and you have a delicious full meal that everyone will enjoy.

Whether you’re looking for a delicious appetizer, easy dinner, simple lunch to bring to work, or a crowd pleaser to bring to a potluck, this recipe ticks them all. Are you ready to get started? Let’s cook this recipe together as I guide you through the process!

Ingredients:

  • Taco Seasoning
  • Ground beef
  • Salsa
  • Cream cheese, softened
  • Melted butter
  • Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • Tortillas
  • Sour cream, salsa, green onions, all toppings optional

How to make Loaded Cheesy Pocket Tacos:

Cook the ground beef until brown. Make sure to crumble it with a wooden spoon. When brown, drain the excess grease.

Add taco seasoning. Mix well. Add cream cheese into a bowl and beat until smooth. Mix in the salsa.

Lay a tortilla over your working surface and add a spoon of the cream cheese in the center.

Add some of the cooked beef.

Top with shredded cheese and fold the burrito.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease your baking tray. Add the tortillas to the baking tray and brush them with melted butter on top.

Bake for 15 minutes or until golden. Add your preferred toppings and serve!

Which toppings to add?

The loaded cheesy pocket tacos go well with a range of toppings. My personal favorites are green onions, cilantro, sour cream, salsa, and guacamole. You can also go with finely chopped tomatoes for a touch of freshness. If you love spicy food, add some sliced jalapenos. And don’t forget that shredded lettuce is an excellent topping for your cheesy packet tacos. Olives also fit the flavor profile, while you can also throw in some extra hot sauce for a spicy kick.

Can I substitute the ground beef?

Yes, you can prepare a delicious pocket taco without the beef. You can switch it with ground chicken or turkey. But if you want to speed up the recipe, feel free to use deli meats or ham. I made it with ham and it turned out to be so delicious.
