Although this recipe might not be the most authentic stromboli recipe, it is certainly delicious! Stromboli is a classic Italian dish made by rolling deli meat and cheese up in dough and baking it in the oven until crisp. It’s like a rolled up pizza and to serve it you just cut it into slices pinwheel-style.

This dish is almost like a hybrid of pizza and Italian sandwiches. You can also get creative with the filling, choosing your favorite kind of deli meat and your favorite sliced or shredded cheese. You might even like to mix and match, using a couple of each. It’s totally up to you.

What makes this version of stromboli especially simple is the fact it’s made using frozen bread dough, so you don’t have to make your own. If you enjoy Italian flavors, you’re definitely going to love this easy and creative riff on classic Italian stromboli.

You can use any kind of cheese or cheeses and any kind of meat or meats. It’s totally up to you.

Ingredients:

  • Thawed loaf frozen bread dough
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Deli-sliced pepperoni
  • Melted unsalted butter

How to make Pepperoni Pizza Bread:

Step 1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 2. Roll out the thawed dough on a flour-dusted worktop to make a ¼-inch thick rectangle or oval.

Step 3. Add the mozzarella across the dough and layer the pepperoni over that.

Step 4. Roll the dough into a log with the pepperoni and mozzarella inside.

Step 5. Put the roll on to a parchment paper-lined baking sheet or silicone baking mat and brush the melted butter across the top.

Step 6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown on top and fully cooked.

Step 7. Cut into slices to serve.
