There’s something truly comforting about a warm bowl of homemade chicken and noodles, especially when it’s cooked low and slow in a crockpot. This Slow Cooker Amish Chicken and Noodles recipe is the perfect combination of tender chicken, silky noodles, and a rich, savory broth that warms your soul from the first bite. It’s a dish that brings back memories of Sunday family dinners, the smell of home-cooked meals filling the house, and that cozy feeling of gathering around the table with loved ones. What makes this recipe even better is how effortlessly it comes together — set it in the morning, go about your day, and come back to a delicious, hearty dinner ready to enjoy.

The beauty of Amish cooking lies in simplicity and heart. This dish uses basic pantry ingredients yet produces layers of flavor that feel anything but basic. The chicken becomes incredibly tender as it simmers, infusing the broth with richness, while the wide egg noodles soak up every bit of savory goodness. A touch of herbs adds that subtle, comforting flavor without overwhelming the dish, making it ideal for any occasion, from a family dinner to a casual weeknight meal.

Why do I love this recipe?
I love this recipe because it’s cozy, fuss-free, and packed with flavor. There’s a nostalgic element to Amish-style cooking that feels wholesome and homey. The combination of tender chicken, rich broth, and perfectly cooked noodles is simply irresistible, and the slow cooker allows the flavors to meld beautifully while freeing up my day.

Serving suggestions:
Serve this dish with a side of buttery green beans, a crisp salad, or warm crusty bread to soak up every last bit of the sauce. A sprinkle of fresh parsley on top adds a touch of color and freshness.

Storage & Freezing:
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. The noodles will absorb more broth over time, so you may want to stir in a little chicken broth when reheating. This dish also freezes well — keep it in freezer-safe containers for up to 2 months and thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.

Variations of the recipe:
You can swap the egg noodles for wide pappardelle, add carrots or celery for extra veggies, or incorporate herbs like thyme and sage for a slightly different flavor profile. For a richer taste, stir in a bit of cream at the end for a creamy Amish-style chicken noodle experience.

This Slow Cooker Amish Chicken and Noodles is the ultimate comfort food — hearty, simple, and made with love, perfect for any day of the week.
