If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll enjoy trying different sweet treats to satisfy your cravings. But you might not have had anything quite like these toffee pecan bars before! They’re in a league of their own and offer so much wonderful flavor in every bite.

Comparable in flavor to pecan pie, these toffee pecan bars are sweet little squares that make a lovely dessert or a sweet snack paired with your late morning or afternoon coffee, tea or drink of choice. If you enjoy pecan pie, you might enjoy this riff on the classic pecan pie recipe, but they’re made in individual squares rather than a pie that you slice.

The sweet toffee, crunchy nuts and rich buttery flavor go together so well. You can play around with the ingredients to make these bars your own, perhaps trying walnuts or hazelnuts in place of the pecans or adding some citrus zest to the topping.

Why You’ll Love the Recipe:
These bars are so impressive. They boast all the wonderful flavor of pecan pie but in bar format. Bursting with incredible flavors like toffee, pecans and vanilla, along with a cake mix based crust, you’re going to love them. And it’s nearly impossible to eat just one!

How to Serve Them:
Pair a bar (or two!) with any drink you want as a snack, or enjoy one for dessert.

Ingredients needed:
- Yellow cake mix or butter cake mix
- Sweetened condensed milk
- Eggs
- Vanilla extract
- Softened butter
- Milk chocolate toffee bits
- Chopped pecans
How to make Toffee Pecan Dream Bars:
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Step 2. Mix the cake mix with one of the eggs and however much butter it calls for on the cake mix packaging.

Step 3. Mix with a fork until crumbly.
Step 4. Press the cake mixture into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan to be your crust.

Step 5. Mix the condensed milk with the other egg and the vanilla in another bowl.
Step 6. Fold in the toffee bits as well as the chopped nuts.

Then spoon this mixture over the crust in the baking pan.

Step 7. Bake for about half an hour or until the edges are lightly browned.
Step 8. Let the bars cool, then slice and serve.

You’re going to love these delicious toffee pecan bars if you’re into sweet treats. They’re easy to make and offer such amazing flavors in every mouthful.

Can You Make Them Ahead?
Yes. Just let them cool completely and then store in an airtight container.

Storage Instructions:
Keep these in an airtight container (let them cool completely first!) They’ll be good for up to 3 days at room temperature or up to a week in the refrigerator. It’s best to put parchment paper between each one so they don’t stick together. Another option is to freeze them for up to 3 months.
Variations and Substitutions:
You can swap the toffee for caramel bits or chocolate chips, or sub a white or vanilla cake mix for the yellow cake mix or butter cake mix. Looking for a vegan version? You can use egg substitute and vegan condensed milk.
