A delicious white queso dip, which is also known as queso blanco dip, is just like the creamy, smooth queso you’d get at your favorite Mexican restaurant. It takes just ten minutes to prepare and is lovely served with tortilla chips. It’s also good poured over steamed vegetables or spooned over a burrito.

White American cheese is the best kind for making queso. Thin it out easily to avoid it developing a skin on top and it melts beautifully. Don’t use pre-shredded cheese or wrapped cheese slices for making queso. You can also add some sharp cheddar, monterey jack or pepper jack to the mix.

It is also easy to reheat for a minute or so in the microwave at 50% power. So, you can see it’s well worth doubling up the recipe. Don’t worry, every last bit is going to be eaten and thoroughly enjoyed!

Why You’ll Love the Recipe

This delicious dip is rich-flavored, creamy and versatile. You can use it as a dip for tortilla chips, spoon it over an egg recipe or add it to tacos or burritos.

How to Serve It

This is best served hot, perhaps garnished with some chopped cilantro or pico de gallo.

Can You Make It Ahead?

Yes, you can prepare it in advance if you want. It reheats well.

Variations and Substitutions

Add some cooked ground beef, crumbled crispy bacon or cooked Mexican chorizo to the queso blanco if you like. Diced fresh tomatoes, minced artichokes or chopped chipotle peppers are also good. You can elevate it to gourmet status by adding crawfish or lobster pieces.
