If so I have some good news and cabbage recipes for you! Whether you are looking for something slow baked to a crisp slaw, a hearty main, or a scrumptious side, you are sure to find recipe here that is bound to catch your eye and tingle your tastebuds! 

The humble cabbage is probably one of nature’s healthiest and most versatile vegetables and we have the recipes to prove it right here!

1. Fried Cabbage Recipes With Bacon And Onions  

This has to be one of our favourite ways of preparing cabbage. Simple ingredients come together in a really tasty way that requires minimal effort. Cabbage, along with chopped onion, sweet carrot bits and of course smoky bacon make for an incredibly delicious side dish that will have your family coming back for seconds. This is so tasty you may want to double it. No fuss, no muss and family friendly what more could you ask for?

Another fabulous way to use up some of that kraut is with this delicious Pork and Sauerkraut recipe.  This tasty casserole is a wonderful way to get a fabulous and hearty meal onto the table for your family! It uses plump and meaty bone-in pork chops, a bit of onion, some apples, seasonings, apple juice, brown sugar and of course that tangy sauerkraut. The Kraut, apples and onions are layered in a baking dish and topped with delicious golden brown chops and then baked, until the chops are meltingly tender and the flavours have well and truly melded together beautifully. We have here a fabulous entrée that goes wonderfully with a nice pile of fluffy mashed potatoes. This is comfort food personified on a whole new level, and a tried and true family favourite!

Cabbage is really a favourite ingredient when it comes to creating colourful and crunchy salads. This Sunflower Crunch Salad is proof positive of that.  Grocery stores these days are filled with bagged salad mixes, designed to be a quick and convenient option when it comes to getting a side dish on the table. They are often grossly over-priced and somewhat lacklustre in their flavours and presentation however! 

Not so this Sunflower Crunch Salad. It offers plenty of crisp crunch, oodles of texture, and wonderful flavours at a fraction of the cost of its supermarket counterparts. If you are wanting to combine plenty of crunch and colour along with some protein you cannot get much better than this delicious Asian Chicken Salad.  This tasty salad hits all the notes of everything you might be wanting in a main meal salad.  There is loads of colour and texture here, including two kinds of cabbage, lettuce, crisp edamame beans, sweet mandarin orange segments, crunchy nuts, seeds, and cooked shredded chicken. Combine this with a tangy Ginger & Mandarin Salad Dressing and we have a winner!  What’s not to love about this one! Maybe you are looking for something without a lot of bells and whistles.  Something which is simple and yet still incredibly tasty. Maybe all you have is a cabbage, and onion and not much else. 

You can still create something fabulously tasty for your family with just these few ingredients.  A bit of seasoning, some butter, and a touch of water (or stock) is all you need to get this little powerhouse of delicious flavours on the table! 8. Scrumptious Cajun Chicken Burger

Finally there is this scrumptious Cajun Chicken Burger recipe in which the cabbage is used as an accent by way of a delicious slaw. Crispy Cajun spiced Chicken Fillets are tucked into a toasted roll along with a zippy, flavour filled slaw. 

This is what I call a real family pleaser, from the tender juicy chicken to that crisp coleslaw topping!  This hand shredded zesty slaw is the perfect accent with its tangy yogurt and lime dressing. Be prepared to offer seconds of these ever popular incredibly delicious sandwiches!
