Variations and Substitutions

Make an optional chocolate glaze on top by microwaving 2 tablespoons of butter, mixing in 2/3 cup of chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons of milk. Spoon this over the cream puffs.

Ingredients needed:

  • All-purpose flour
  • Water
  • Butter
  • Vanilla extract
  • Eggs
  • White sugar

Filling ingredients:

  • Heavy cream
  • Milk
  • Instant vanilla pudding

How to make Cream Dream Puffs:

Step 1. Put the butter, water, sugar, and vanilla in a pan and bring to a boil.

Step 2. Stir in the flour and keep stirring and cooking until it forms a ball.

Step 3. Remove the mixture from the pan and cool.

Step 4. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 5. Now beat one egg at a time into the cooled flour mixture.

Mix together.

Step 6. Drop tablespoons of the mixture on to parchment paper lined baking sheets.

Step 7. Bake for 15 minutes.

Step 8. Turn the oven heat down to 350 degrees F and cook for another 15 minutes.

Step 9. Remove from the oven and cut a slit into the side of each one with a sharp knife.

Step 10. Let them cool completely.

Step 11. Beat the filling ingredient together until thick and then pipe or scoop it into the cooled puffs.

Step 12. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
