It can be difficult to find quick, easy, and healthful meals that satisfy when life gets hectic. These Low Carb Three-Ingredient Chicken Patties are the answer to that problem. You can make juicy, flavorful patties with just chicken, cheese, and eggs that are great for lunch, dinner, or even as a high-protein snack. The taste and texture of this recipe are anything but basic, despite the fact that it calls for very few ingredients. The patties hold together beautifully, stay moist and tender, and go well with practically anything you have on hand. This recipe is always a hit whether you’re on a low-carb or ketogenic diet or are simply searching for a healthier substitute for classic fried chicken patties.

What Makes This Recipe My Favorite?

This recipe is very simple, quick, and forgiving, which is why I adore it. It’s almost impossible to make a mistake with just three ingredients, but the outcome is incredibly fulfilling. Lean protein is supplied by the chicken, everything is held together by the eggs, and the patties are kept juicy by the cheese’s delightful richness. It’s my go-to for hectic evenings, meal preparation, or any time I need a quick, family-friendly, low-carb choice.

Serving Recommendations

You can use these chicken patties for a variety of purposes! For a light meal, serve them over cauliflower rice or fresh greens; for a hearty dinner, serve them with roasted vegetables. If you want a healthier take on a traditional burger, they also taste great on low-carb buns with lettuce, tomato, and your preferred sauce. For an added protein boost, you can even crumble them over salads.

Freezing and Storage

You can keep leftover patties in the fridge for up to three days. You can freeze them for extended storage by first flash-freezing the patties on a baking sheet and then moving them to a freezer-safe bag. They can be stored for up to two months. Warm again in a skillet, air fryer, or oven until thoroughly heated.

Different Iterations of the Recipe

Go ahead and use your imagination! For added taste, add Italian herbs, garlic powder, or paprika. To sneak in some vegetables, mix in bell peppers, zucchini, or finely chopped spinach. Depending on your taste, you can also use mozzarella, feta, or pepper jack cheese in place of cheddar.

These Low Carb Three-Ingredient Chicken Patties are a go-to recipe for meal prep or a quick weeknight supper because they have few ingredients and maximum flavor.

Ingredients Method

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese cheddar or your favorite
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with non-stick spray or a little olive oil.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the ground chicken, egg, shredded cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until everything is evenly incorporated.
  3. Form the mixture into 4 evenly sized patties. Make sure they’re compact so they hold together while cooking.
  4. Place the patties in the preheated skillet and cook for 5–6 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes on a paper towel or plate to absorb any excess grease.
  6. Serve the patties warm with your favorite low-carb sides, salad, or in a bunless burger setup.
  7. Enjoy!
