Turkey Easy Meatloaf Recipe

There’s something timeless and comforting about meatloaf. It’s the kind of meal that fills your home with warmth the moment it goes into the oven, and it evokes memories of family dinners and cozy weeknights. My Turkey Easy Meatloaf Recipe takes that comfort food classic and makes it healthier, lighter, and incredibly simple, without sacrificing any flavor. Using lean ground turkey instead of beef reduces the fat content but keeps the texture moist and satisfying, and a combination of simple pantry ingredients ensures that this recipe is not only delicious but also budget-friendly and easy enough to prepare on any busy day.

Why do I love this recipe? I love this meatloaf because it’s the perfect balance of savory, tender, and lightly sweet from the glaze on top. It’s versatile enough to adapt to your tastes—add extra herbs or a splash of Worcestershire sauce if you like a deeper flavor. Plus, it’s a one-pan meal that makes cleanup a breeze. Using ground turkey keeps it lean and healthier than traditional meatloaf, but it still has the satisfying texture that makes meatloaf a family favorite.

Serving suggestions: Turkey meatloaf is incredibly versatile. Serve slices with creamy mashed potatoes and roasted green beans for a classic dinner. For a lighter option, pair it with a fresh garden salad or steamed vegetables. Leftover meatloaf also makes fantastic sandwiches—just layer a slice on whole-grain bread with a little mustard or mayo, add some crisp lettuce and tomato, and you have a quick and hearty lunch.

Storage & freezing: This meatloaf keeps really well, making it perfect for meal prep. Store leftover slices in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. To freeze, wrap the cooled meatloaf tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil, or slice it and place in freezer-safe bags for individual portions. Frozen meatloaf can last up to 3 months and reheats beautifully in the oven or microwave.

Variations: This recipe is a great base for experimentation. Try adding diced bell peppers, shredded carrots, or mushrooms for extra moisture and nutrition. You can swap the glaze for barbecue sauce or a mixture of ketchup and Dijon mustard for a tangy twist. For a Mexican-inspired version, add a teaspoon of cumin and a dash of chili powder and top with salsa before baking.

This Turkey Easy Meatloaf is simple, hearty, and flexible—a weeknight hero that’s perfect for small households or larger gatherings. With minimal prep, maximum flavor, and the ability to customize, it’s a recipe you’ll come back to again and again.

Ingredients Method

Ingredients

For the Meatloaf:
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp dried minced onion
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1/4 cup non-fat milk
  • 2 lbs ground turkey
  • 3/4 cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
For the Glaze:
  • 2/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup dark brown sugar packed
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, olive oil, dried onion, garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, thyme, cumin, Italian seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until evenly combined.
  3. Add eggs, milk, and breadcrumbs to the bowl. Using clean hands, mix everything together until fully incorporated.
  4. Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan. Pat it into shape so it forms an even loaf.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes. While the meatloaf bakes, prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and Dijon mustard until smooth.
  6. Remove meatloaf from the oven after 35 minutes. Pour the glaze evenly over the top. Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped green onions, if desired, and serve warm.
  8. Enjoy!
