There’s something about the smell of freshly baked pastries that instantly brings a sense of comfort and warmth into the kitchen. If you’re looking for a quick, irresistible appetizer or snack that’s guaranteed to disappear fast, Baked Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents are an absolute winner. These golden, flaky crescents combine savory sausage with the rich creaminess of cream cheese, all wrapped in buttery crescent dough—a combination that’s simple yet indulgent. Perfect for a weekend brunch, holiday gathering, or even a casual weeknight treat, they’re versatile, crowd-pleasing, and satisfyingly delicious.

Why do I love this recipe?
I love this recipe because it hits the perfect balance between savory and creamy, with a touch of buttery crisp from the crescent dough. The sausage provides a hearty flavor, while the cream cheese adds a smooth, velvety texture that melts beautifully as the crescents bake. They’re simple enough to throw together in minutes, but the result looks and tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen.

Serving suggestions:
Serve these crescents warm from the oven for the ultimate gooey, flavorful bite. They’re perfect alongside a fresh garden salad, roasted vegetables, or a tangy dipping sauce like spicy mustard or marinara. They also make a fantastic addition to brunch spreads or holiday appetizer platters.

Storage & Freezing:
These crescents are best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply warm them in the oven at 350°F for 5–10 minutes to regain their crispiness. For make-ahead convenience, you can assemble the crescents and freeze them unbaked. When ready, bake them straight from the freezer, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time.

Variations of the recipe:
Feel free to get creative! Swap the sausage for cooked bacon, ham, or even a spiced chorizo for a flavor twist. You can also mix in shredded cheddar, mozzarella, or pepper jack with the cream cheese for a cheesy surprise. Herbs like chives, parsley, or rosemary can be sprinkled inside for added freshness and aroma.

These Baked Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents are simple, versatile, and packed with flavor, making them a must-try recipe for anyone who loves quick yet impressive baked treats. Golden, cheesy, and irresistibly savory, they’ll quickly become a favorite in your recipe rotation.

Cuisine: American
Ingredients Method

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • 1 package 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cans 8 oz each refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional
  • 1 egg beaten (for brushing)

Method

Preheat the oven:
  1. Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cook the sausage:
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the pork sausage until fully browned, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
Mix the filling:
  1. In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage with the softened cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined. If using cheddar cheese, fold it in at this stage.
Prepare the crescent dough:
  1. Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles.
Fill the crescents:
  1. Spoon a generous amount of the sausage mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Roll the dough from the wide end to the narrow tip, sealing the edges by gently pinching them together.
Arrange and brush:
  1. Place the filled crescents on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to achieve a shiny, golden finish.
Bake:
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown and fully cooked.
Cool and serve:
  1. Allow the crescents to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy them warm for the best flavor and texture.
  2. Enjoy!
