The Big Mac is a staple when visiting McDonald’s. The burger is popular among fans of this fast food chain, who hurry up to the drive-thru to get theirs. It brings back memories of childhood when we got a happy meal with our favorite toy.

This time, we share a homemade version of the famous Big Mac that melts your heart. However, we added a slight twist and created our version. We feature the Big Mac French Toast, a combination of crunchy toast, juicy beef pattie, sauteed onion, and crispy bacon. The crispy homemade toast contrasts with the tender meat, creating a tasty combination that resembles the famous burger.

What makes this recipe so unique?

The recipe reveals the perfect mix of ingredients to recreate the athletic Big Mac taste at home. The crispy bacon and sauteed onion add the signature flavor to the patty. Switching the hamburger bun with homemade toast adds extra crispiness, which pairs well with the tender beef patty. Also, it is sturdy enough to hold the rich content without falling apart. While these ingredients resemble the authentic Big Mac flavor, feel free to experiment and develop your own variations.

What to serve it with?

It can be enjoyed straightway or with a variety of sides and beverages. For the original McDonald’s feel, serve your Big Mac French toast with a side of French fries. Don’t forget to include your favorite dipping sauce.

Can I make it ahead of time?

This recipe is best enjoyed fresh. But if you are left with no other option, it would be best to prepare the different components ahead of time and assemble them when ready to serve. Make sure to store them in separate containers in the fridge.

Ingredients:

  • Ground beef
  • Slices of thick-cut bread
  • American cheese
  • Half an onion sliced thin
  • Olive oil
  • Bacon
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Step 2. Cook them in a frying pan over medium-high heat until cooked thoroughly. Remove and set aside.

Step 3. Add the oil to the pan. Once warm, cook the onion until tender. Remove from the heat and set aside.
